An independent support group for anyone in and around Sheffield whose lives are affected by Parkinson's.
Hi there!
Welcome to Sheffield KAP.
We have just had this year's Ten pin bowling championship.
Congratulations to Mick for winning again and with such
an impressive score: 249 points!

| Some of our ladies at the championship. |
Our champions have been:
2005: Barry Foster
2006: Elsie Spitzer
2007: Walter Spitzer
2008: Glynis Woffienden
2009: Glynis Woffienden
2010: Mick Revill
2011: Hilary Ducker
2012: Mick Revill

We went to Crich for our outing 2009.
We had a great Summer trip To The Deep at Hull and Withernsea in
2008.
Unfortunately due to several family bereavements I was unable to arrange a trip out in 2010.
In 2011 instead of a trip out we entered a team in the Parkinson's Charity walk round Chatsworth.
There were nine members of Team Marley and despite the walk climbing up to the Hunting Tower, we all
managed it . (Not counting Emma who had broken her toe the previous week!)
We were all very proud of our achievement and even more proud of the money we raised;
Over
£1400!!!!

|
| We all piled onto the coach. |

|
| The weather could have been better. |

|
| But we all enjoyed the trip out. |

|
| And promised to do it again next year. |
Because of the general economic situation and especially the cuts being forecasted by the council we are
not going to apply again for a small grant from Sheffield Council.
Let's see if we can raise enough funds to keep running without help. Certainly we raised a good sum
at the coffee morning last year. Our coffee morning is quite eagily anticipated in Dore. Everyone enjoys the delicious cakes
that always appear. And also meeting up with old friends for a gossip. Please make a point of coming this year if you didn't
last. You will enjoy it.
Many of us found Tai Chi beneficial especially for posture and balance.
We hope to run Tai Chi again as well as art lessons.
For most of 2010 our meetings were still on the third
Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm. But they were not at St. Mark's church.
St. Mark's is perfect for our meetings. There is a car park,
a kitchen and it's cheaper than the Quaker house. Also we are able to have a raffle and a bottle of wine when we want
to! But alas too few members are coming each month to warrant booking it on a regular basis.
So check your newsletter each month for the location of the meeting!
If you are reading this for the first time and have not been
to any of our meetings or activities please give Karen a ring on 0114 2362479 and she will send you a welcome pack.
